Greetings from Brewer Road Iglesia de Cristo!
Baptisms
In the past few weeks we have witnessed the baptisms of three young ladies that have grown up in the church. Their names are Adileny Hernandez, Jennifer Ventura and Damaris Cruz. We want to congratulate their parents and every Sunday school teacher that have played a role in educating these young ladies to become faithful Christia

Gospel Meeting
We are getting ready for our Fall Gospel Meeting! It will be taking place on November 6th through the 9th. Our speaker will be our brother Roberto Miranda from Houston, TX.
Our goal is to make at least 200 personal invitations to our neighbors, friends and family members.
Strengthening Families Program
Last Thursday, October 23rd, was the last session and graduation day. The participants are students and families of a low academic performance middle school in our community. Gustavo and I worked as facilitators and counselors to the kids and parents enrolled in the seven week program sponsored by Forsyth County Family Services. We believe that the subjects and discussions we covered during the seven sessions are extremely important in bringing parents and kids to a better understanding of each other. We were also able to create the habits of family meetings and quality communication.

Chaplaincy Ministry at Forsyth Medical Center

As I told you in my last report, I’m serving as a volunteer Chaplain at a local hospital. They have an average of 30 Hispanic in-patients. Since I’m working 4 hours a week, I can barely visit with half of them. I have been able to share Bible lessons with a few of them but I have not been able to establish any ongoing Bible studies after they are discharged. I’m grateful to be a part of a program in which many are getting encouraged as they face difficult times.
English as a Second Language
We are offering an ESL class to our members and many of our church visitors every Tuesday and Thursday. This is the biggest class we have had. There are more than 20 students who are divided in two classes.
Ladies Group Update
The ladies are still meeting every Saturday morning for their Bible Study. Sarah is teaching and coordinating this class. One of the things accomplished in this class is that several of our sisters have had the opportunity to lead devotionals. This has empowered them to become active in the class and also is helping them to improve and develop their Bible knowledge and teaching skills. Sarah just started a series called: The Christian Home. The main focus of the lessons is to introduce the ladies to ideas, tips, new family habits and traditions that can bring more joy, unity, spirituality, communication and interaction at home.
Saturday Night Couples Meeting
Gustavo and Sheryl are hosting a weekly couples Bible study at their house. The purpose of this meeting is to create deeper and closer relationships amongst the people participating. Also, Gustavo is trying to create an environment where couples can freely talk about their personal battles and challenges, as well as getting some type of encouragement and support.
Sunday attendance: November 2nd, 2008.
